Synopsis:
Shane Meadows introduces four of his early short films and uses them as examples for young directors to guide their steps to writing, funding and directing that first successful film.
'Shane's World' is an engaging and irreverent feature length anthology of short films by Shane Meadows. The writer and director of the critically acclaimed 'This Is England', first came to the attention of the film industry through his inspired short 'Where's The Money, Ronnie?'. In Shane's World, Meadows returns to his roots with these four irreverent short films and two spoof adverts harnessing the formidable talents of Paddy Considine in an impressive range of roles.
Shane's World shows that Meadows has indeed retained his ingenuity and his unique blend of humour and poignant insight. Meadows seems to have dedicated a lot of time to sub-feature cinema in order to find his voice and refine his style. An interesting project from one of the country's most important filmmakers.

Trivia:
The idea for 'Macca's Men' arose from Paddy Considine trying out different wigs, false teeth and outfits that Shane had bought from a local charity shop.
Part of 'Macca's Men' was filmed at Burton Albion F.C's ground.
Most of the young boys featured in Macca's Men are relatives of Considine's including two brothers Craig and Matthew who later featured in Dead Man's shoes.
'Three Tears for Jimmy Prophet' was the original inspiration for 'Once Upon a Time in the Midlands' (which originally had a working title of 'Standing Eight Count')
'Three Tears for Jimmy Prophet' was filmed at the Burton Boxing Club in Burton-on-Trent.
The 'Man with no name' was filmed at Carvers Rocks, a popular attraction for hikers and ramblers located four miles north east of Ashby-de-la-Zouch at the southern end of the new Foremark Reservoir in Leicestershire.
