Synopsis
'My Zinc Bed', is a small world unto itself. based on the successful stage play by David Hare, of the same name. There are only three characters; a poet, a successful Internet entrepreneur and his wife. 'My Zinc Bed' only shows a closed off part of their lives, a tight triangle twisting under enormous pressures.
Paul Peplow is the young poet and an addict, addicted to alcohol, to Alcoholics Anonymous, to self-pity and self-hate. He struggles unable to live off his art, he is reduced to working as a journalist, which is how he comes to meet Victor Quinn. Quinn, a one-time communist who now runs a thriving Internet company, with the typical Internet profile: no profits, just potential. Peplow gets the opportunity to interview him, a small journalistic coup that he doesn't take advantage of -- even when Quinn gives him 'carte blanche' to write whatever he wants, Instead, the poet goes to work as a copywriter for Quinn's burgeoning business.
