Synopsis:
Working-class tomboy, Mona lives with her brother, Phil who used to run a pub before he found God and poured away all the booze. Mona meets the exotic and pampered Tamsin who is rich, spoilt and trying to live a life of seductive decadence.
They meet on the Yorkshire moors, above their quiet village and begin an intense, unlikely friendship. Tamsin and Mona want to escape their lives, but Phil wants to save them and save everybody else. Mona wants the old, dangerous, Phil back; the brother that she loved. The seductive Tamsin wants to see what it takes to break him. Based on the novel by acclaimed author, Helen Cross.

Paddy's role:
Mona's older brother Phil a pub landlord, who has renounced his criminal past for religious fervour as a born again Christian - which he tries to impose upon his sister. Phil decides that Christ has actually told him to cleanse his pub and make it a spiritual centre so that people can come and learn about Christianity.

Trivia:
Paddy went on an Alpha course (an introduction to Christianity), and I befriended some local Christians in preparation for this role.
Paddy previously worked with Pawel Pawlikowski on his 2000 feature 'Last Resort'.
The film is based on the novel of the same name 'My Summer of love' written by Helen Cross published by Bloomsbury. Described by the Sunday Mirror as 'A sharp, disturbing and highly original debut novel'.
The film shared the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in British Film award with Shane Meadows for Dead Mans Shoes at the Directors Guild of Great Britain Awards.
