Moloko's single Familiar Feeling was released by The Echo Label on 17th February 2003. Following on from the massive success of 2000's The Time Is Now, 'Familiar Feeling' is taken from the album Statues.
A bewitching combination of surging strings and hypnotic bass, the track is accompanied by an outstanding Northern Soul-styled video shot by long-time Moloko collaborator Elaine Constantine.
|
A true jet-setting super-shooter, Constantine is credited with creating a new style of fashion photography that dispensed with the tired, malnourished and alienated youth look of the 90's. Elaine has worked as a photographer across magazines such as The Face, Vogue and Arena, to fashion houses such as Gap, Katherine Hamnett and Levi's.
The video tells a story of love, yearning and wild dance abandon, set in an anonymous all-nighter (similar to the legendary Wigan casino ones) and starring Moloko's Roisin Murphy with Paddy Considine. The CD single features the stunning Elaine Constantine video plus an enhanced section featuring album excerpts.
The DVD features a photo gallery and video excerpts from 4 of Moloko's old videos (Indigo, Pure Pleasure Seeker, Time is now and Dominoid.)

Paddy says of the project:
"I had about two sessions to try and learn some soul steps, which wasn't enough! But I had a great time doing it."
